An integral part of America in One Room: The Youth Vote are the trained moderators who work alongside Close Up instructional staff to facilitate thoughtful discussion and deliberation among first-time voters. Moderators will pose questions to panels of experts and policymakers, guide Q&As, and ensure that diverse themes and viewpoints are considered in all student discussions.
Are you interested in moderating for this historic event? We’re looking for moderators who:
- Are available for a full day of training and two full days of moderating on July 20 and 21, 2024.
- Can provide their own transportation to and from the DMV area for the training and moderation.
- Are at least 21 years old.
- Are comfortable facilitating group discussions such as focus groups.
- Can remain neutral and withhold their own opinions while creating a good atmosphere for discussion.
- Have excellent skills in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
- Complete a background check.
