Katie is currently working as an instructional coaching specialist for the Close Up Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked in historic preservation in Missouri and later as a special education teacher in Texas and Virginia. She graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in Architectural Studies and History of Art and got her Master of Education degree from the University of Texas at El Paso in special education. In addition to her work as a coach, Katie develops materials and methods to help make the Close Up programs in Washington, DC, accessible to all students who attend.
