Shadow

We need your help to create a representative sample of young America!

From July 8-11, 2026, all eyes will turn to our nation’s capital as Close Up, the Stanford University Deliberative Democracy Lab, Generation Lab, and the Hoover Institution’s Center for Revitalizing American Institutions convene NextGen Roundtable: Decision 2026, a deliberative gathering of first-time voters. The idea? To engage in deliberation around the issues facing our country with 400 young Americans of all backgrounds, communities, and worldviews.

To ensure we create a representative sample of young people nationwide, we invite you to submit your name for a chance to be selected.

The program is underwritten by a nonpartisan philanthropy, so there will be no cost to participate. NextGen Roundtable: Decision 2026 will pay for all travel to and from Washington, D.C., hotel accommodations, and meals. All we ask of you is to be 18 and eligible to cast your first vote by November 3 and to engage in thoughtful issue discussions with your peers.

Even if you will not be a first-time voter this year, we still encourage you to submit your name. All students aged 14-20 will have the opportunity to share their voices in Close Up’s nationwide youth survey and take part in other deliberative events and webinars.
