America 250 High School Program

Join us in D.C. and Philadelphia to celebrate 250 years of American independence!

Commemorate this historic moment in our nation’s history.

The Close Up experience takes on special significance in the summer of 2026, as our nation comes together to mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. We’re harnessing this inspiring moment with the America 250 Commemorative High School Program, an incredible opportunity for students to dive into U.S. history in both Washington, D.C.—our nation’s capital—and Philadelphia—the birthplace of our democracy.

This six-day, five-night program gives high school students the chance to:

  • Visit and study the iconic monuments, world-renowned museums, and hallowed institutions of Washington, D.C.;
  • Explore Capitol Hill and discuss current issues with members of Congress and/or congressional staff;
  • Trace the footsteps of the Founding Fathers in Philadelphia, including the rooms at Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were debated and signed;
  • Engage in meaningful discussions with peers from around the country and debate the most pressing issues facing our nation in a Mock Congress;
  • Experience our country’s 250th birthday in a safe, educational, all-inclusive way!
