Close Up and the United States Air Force

We’re excited to have Airmen engage with students in 2025-26!

Close Up is aiming high with the United States Air Force.

At a time when the world is rapidly changing, what is the role of the United States on the international stage? What part does our military play in addressing the opportunities and challenges we face worldwide?  

Building on our mission to show young people the many pathways to active citizenship, Close Up is proud to partner with the United States Air Force during the 2025-26 program year. We’re honored to welcome Airmen on program to speak to students about pressing policy issues—and give them a real-life glimpse of what it means to serve our country in uniform.

You can have the chance to engage with Airmen directly.

Throughout the fall and winter of 2025-26, we’ll be hosting Airmen as seminar speakers for select Close Up high school programs in Washington, D.C. During each seminar, students will have the opportunity to hear and ask questions about the life and career of an Airman, the major policy issues involving the Air Force, and the present and future role of the U.S. military.
