Since 2022, the Governor's Office, the Arizona Cardinals, Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL), and the Close Up Foundation have partnered on Civics Matters Arizona. This statewide civic engagement initiative provides Arizona youth primarily attending Title I schools an opportunity to get involved and give back to their communities, learn the importance of active citizenship, and earn credits toward earning the Arizona Seal of Civics Literacy for their high school diploma. The program culminates with a special program for 260 selected students to participate in the Civics Matters Arizona Summit taking place in Washington, DC in June 2024. The summit is an all-expense paid trip, including a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to travel to the Nation’s Capital on the Cardinals plane!
