Bringing Close Up to Your Online Classroom

During this time of remote learning and social distancing, Close Up’s commitment to educate, inspire, and empower young people to participate in our democracy is stronger than ever. To support our schools, Close Up has created virtual programs, teacher training, and facilitated discussion sessions that give students and teachers the tools to discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting public policy decisions in local communities and at all levels of government.

Join us for Impact 2020 – a unique and engaging virtual program designed to help middle school and high school students develop the skills necessary to pursue a passion, tackle a community need, and form a network with other young leaders from across the country. The National Network of Schools in Partnership (NNSP) and Close Up Foundation have partnered to offer Impact 2020, a program designed to help young people develop their sense of purpose, and empowers them to make an impact in their communities. 

Student Voices: Election 2020

With the November election rapidly approaching, students and teachers have the opportunity to join Close Up for our Student Voices: Election 2020, an online program aimed at connecting young people from across the country and helping them learn about and discuss the most pressing issues of this election. Middle school and high school students will take part in a series of Close Up-led online discussions about key issues and races. Teachers will also gain access to a virtual professional development training session and ready-to-use resources to help them support continued election-related discussions in class.

Empowering Female Voices: 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

Empowering Female Voices is an online program that brings together girls from across the country for a series of civic engagement workshops centered around the 2020 election. In partnership with Hockaday’s Institute for Social Impact, Close Up aims to help students develop empathy for the perspectives of others and build the skills and confidence to empower a generation of female change-makers.
