Outreach Coordinator

Our outreach coordinators work directly for sales representatives to help schedule meetings and generate leads. This is a quota position that requires close coordination with a sales representative, the ability to differentiate Close Up from other programs, and excellent phone  and organizational skills. To succeed, you need to know how to prospect, qualify and prioritize new leads via phone and email. To get hired, you must have a college degree, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The outreach coordinators do not travel but will work closely to schedule meetings and travel for a sales representative.  
 
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with some experience in education, sales, marketing or related field preferred. Individual must have excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational ability and interest in inspiring young people to be active citizens. Must enjoy speaking with diverse constituencies, including business leaders, educators, parents, and students. Program Instructor (PI)

PIs deliver our exciting flagship programs in Washington, leading diverse groups of students from schools nationwide through our structured curriculum. The cornerstone of what we do, PIs help students to see that every voice matters and that one person can make difference. They lead activities at famous sites, accompany students to meetings with Congress, and stimulate debate among students. In addition to functioning as educators, they help us manage the total experience for students, many of whom are away from home for the first time. PIs must: (1) have a college degree (preferably in education, history, political science, social science or related field), (2) be adept at working with diverse students in grades 6-12, (3) be able to lead dialogue about public policy issues, and (4) have the flexibility and stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced environment. It helps if you have a sense of humor and some teaching or public speaking experience.
