You’ll experience “close up” all that Washington has to offer – a front row seat to the sites, sounds and action. And we make sure you benefit from the city’s unique seasonality… whether that’s to experience a new Congress at work, the Inauguration, our July 4th festivities, the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial celebrations and more. In short, the city will be a living classroom for you and your students.
Close Up’s Features

What makes Close Up different is the access we provide to the people, places, processes and institutions that collectively make up Washington’s power structure. Congressional leaders and U.S. Presidents have supported and praised us for decades. They know we’ve helped thousands of ordinary students define themselves as meaningful participants in our democracy. Our students can meet with and personally engage many of the same individuals they see on TV or hear about in class. Discover why Close Up is the educational experience of a lifetime.

Close Up has a vast network of distinguished speakers who help government and current issues “come alive” for you and your students. Typically, you get to meet face-to-face with elected officials on Capitol Hill, members of the Administration, policy experts from the private and public sector and media types as well. In short, our all-star lineup will help you and your students take an incredible learning adventure.

Close Up and our partners are committed to providing the best quality at the best price. The travel companies, hotels, restaurants and other vendors we work we work with are committed to that same level of excellence. Quality, comfort, affordability, safety – it’s the Close Up difference.
